Voetberg Family

Multi Grammy award winner Floyd Domino states that “…the Voetberg family is unique, wonderful, talented, entertaining, and a joy…” and since their first performance in 1999, the family band has followed a serendipitous path of bluegrass, gospel, country, folk, jazz and Celtic influences. The children – ranging in age from nine to twenty-two- have garnered many awards including ten Washington state fiddle championships, eight WSMTA awards for outstanding keyboard and vocal performance, twenty regional fiddle championships, twelve Top Five placements at the National Fiddle Competition and the title of 2007 National Young Adult Fiddle Champion.

Band members:

Twenty-three year old Liddy Voetberg is a national young adult fiddle champion, a two time state fiddle champion and the winner of over ten regional fiddle contests. In 2010 Liddy released her first solo project entitled “He Leadeth Me,” an acoustic album of traditional hymns and one original piece featuring award winning musicians from across the country.  When not playing music, Liddy enjoys reading and baking and is also an avid runner.

 

 

 

 

Twenty-year old Elisha Voetberg has won three state fiddle championships, over ten regional fiddle championship and has placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th at the national fiddle competition. Also an accomplished guitarist and mandolin player, Elisha has won over seven regional picking championships. Besides music, Elisha enjoys playing football, basketball and doing anything active with his younger brothers and sisters.

 

 

Eighteen-year old Annnie Voetberg is a two time state fiddle champion and a five time regional fiddle champion. When not playing fiddle, Annnie enjoys cello, playing backyard football with her brothers and is the girls varsity basketball team captain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seventeen-year old Lilja Voetberg is a two time state fiddle champion, a seven time regional fiddle champion and a 5th place finisher at the national fiddle competition.  Besides fiddle, Lilja plays keyboard in the family band. Lilja also spends time practicing her classical piano. An avid fan of national and local politics, Lilja enjoys learning about current and past political events and also likes playing sports and making jokes, puns, and holding babies.

 

 

Fifteen-year old Tucker Voetberg is a state fiddle champion, a 3rd and 4th place finisher at the national fiddle competition and the winner of over five regional fiddle championships. When not playing fiddle, Tucker enjoys singing, basketball, golf, football and gardening.

 

 

 

Thirteen-year old Deter Voetberg is a regional fiddle champion and a 6th place finisher at the national fiddle championships.  Besides fiddle, Deter plays bass in the family band and enjoys football, basketball and being an uncle.

 

 

Eleven-year old Vance Voetberg is a two time state fiddle champion and has won over seven regional fiddle competitions and has placed 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th at the national fiddle competition. Besides fiddle, Vance enjoys playing basketball and football and playing in the woods with his brothers and sisters.

 

 

Nine-year old Rudy Voetberg is a regional fiddle champion and a top five finisher at the state fiddle competition.  Besides music, Rudy loves piano, basketball, football and baseball. He also enjoys playing outside.
