Powered by two national fiddle champions, a west coast flat-picking champion and 10 state fiddle championships, The Voetberg Family is made up of 8 siblings ranging in ages 15 to 25. With over 8 years of performing experience, The Voetberg Family Band puts on a show that displays a cohesive variety of musical styles and a developed musicianship beyond their years.As classically trained musicians, each band member displays unique versatility while remaining technically sound. The Voetberg Family Band performs Irish, Scottish, American, Swing, Jazz and Classical music and have been coached by several world class musicians – including Grammy winners Floyd Domino and Chris Booher.
Liddy Voetberg writes, arranges and produces for the Voetberg Family Band. She is a national young adult fiddle champion, a two time state fiddle champion and the winner of over ten regional fiddle contests. In 2010 Liddy released her first solo project entitled “He Leadeth Me,” an acoustic album of traditional hymns and one original piece featuring award winning musicians from across the country. Liddy has since spent time performing with the Voetberg Family Band and co-produced the band’s most recent album “Leaning”.
Elisha Voetberg works with Liddy as co-producer for the band. Though his primary instrument is guitar, he has garnered three state fiddle championships, over ten regional fiddle championship and has placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th at the national fiddle competition. As an accomplished guitar and mandolin player, Elisha has won over seven regional picking championships.
Annnie Voetberg is the cello player of the group. She is a two time state fiddle champion and a five time regional fiddle champion. Annnie was the first Voetberg to win a state fiddling title.
Lilja Voetberg plays the fiddle and piano in the band. She is a two time state fiddle champion, a nine time regional fiddle champion and a top 5 finisher at the national fiddle competition. Lilja studies classical piano and enjoys fiddle competitions. She loves to spend time with her nieces and nephews, she also takes pleasure in playing sports, sewing, cooking and goofing around.
Tucker Voetberg is the drummer for the band. He is a state fiddle champion, a 3rd and 4th place finisher at the national fiddle competition and the winner of over five regional fiddle championships. When not playing fiddle, Tucker enjoys singing, basketball, golf, football and gardening.
Deter Voetberg is the primary bass player for the band. He is also a regional fiddle champion and a 6th place finisher at the national fiddle championships. Deter enjoys football, basketball and being an uncle.
Vance Voetberg likes to take center stage performing vocal and fiddle solos. He is a National Jr. Jr. fiddle champion, a two time state fiddle champion and has won over seven regional fiddle competitions. He has also placed 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th at the national fiddle competition. Besides fiddle, Vance enjoys playing basketball and football and playing in the woods with his brothers and sisters.
Rudy Voetberg is a regional fiddle champion and a top five finisher at the state fiddle competition. Besides music, Rudy loves piano, basketball, football and baseball. He also enjoys playing outside.
